POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMIDALE ARMED ROBBERY
An investigation is underway after an armed robbery in Armidale overnight.
Police say a man armed with a knife, entered a fast food store on Queen Elizabeth Drive just before 10pm.
The man threatened a male employee and demanded cash.
The employee refused, and the man attempted to open the till, before leaving the scene empty-handed.
He’s described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 170cm tall and of solid build. He was wearing a jacket, long pants and had his face covered.
Police are investigating whether the incident is linked to another armed robbery at a fast food outlet on Dumaresq Street, last Saturday night.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
