INVERELL POLICE STATION PUSHES FORWARD WITH DESIGN WORK
Inverell is one step closer to housing a new police station, with design work now underway.
Local officers have been consulting with planning staff as part of the $8.5-million project.
The current 60-year-old station will be demolished as the new structure is built.
Northern Tablelands MP, Adam Marshall, says Inverell is the only 24-hour police station in the region that is more than 10 years old.
Construction is expected to begin next year.
