The woman who hit and killed two pedestrians at Edgeworth in 2010 will be jailed for at least two years.
In Newcastle District Court this morning, Judge Robert Toner recounted how 43-year-old Karen Lee Winter, who has since been diagnosed with epilepsy, was treated for a migraine on the morning before the incident, and was driving under the influence marijuana and prescription medication.
Winter claimed she blacked out before striking the pair.
He sentenced her to two three year jail terms with a non parole period of two years.
Winter will be eligible for release on November 16, 2013
