MEREWETHER HANG ON IN WPL WIN OVER SOUTH WALLSEND

In Round 18 of the Women’s Premier League, Adamstown claimed a big win over Wallsend, keeping its finals hopes alive, while Merewether overcame South Wallsend.
The visitors had the best of the early chances at Myamblah Crescent, Sass Seaborn combining with Erin Wilson.
Seaborn was back in the action not long after, her shot going just wide.
Merewether broke the deadlock late in the first half, Rebekah Stuart getting the final touch on a ball close to the line.
The win keeps Merewether second on the ladder.
