It was nowhere near as dramatic, but there was also a disappointing finish for Hunter driver Charlotte Poynting in the Aussie Racing Cars round at Ipswich.
Two laps into race four, Poynting suffered mechanical problems and was marooned on the track, before being towed to the pits.
It came off the back of her best result of the weekend, where she climbed from outside the top 20 to grab 13th in race three.
