DROUGHT FORUMS A SUCCESS SO FAR
It’s been almost a week since the first drought forums were held in the region, and they’re attracting attention.
Organisers say their success could see them expanded state-wide.
“The government has identified them as probably a really good means of getting the message out to the people about what is available and how they need to attract that help that’s out there.”
Plenty of people have fronted the forums so far, with attendance only expected increase.
“The numbers have been quite good and we’ve had a lot of people at the Tamworth forum, we had a very good crowd at Narrabri and we had a reasonable crowd at Moree, and I think next week when we move into those grazing areas around Inverell and Glen Innes we’ll probably see the crowds increase.”
The final two will be held in Inverell and Glen Innes this week.
