HISTORIC CHANGE FOR THE HERALD AS PRINTING PRESS SHUTS DOWN

After 160 years of printing local newspapers, the final edition of the Newcastle Herald came off the press last night at Fairfax’s Beresfield plant. From Monday, the title along with other Hunter papers will be printed in Sydney’s West – bringing to a close an important chapter in the region’s history.
