WOMAN DIES FROM MENINGOCOCCAL DISEASE

A 25-year-old woman has died from Meningococcal disease in the New England area.
The woman passed away in September after collapsing at home, but Hunter New England Health says test results have only just confirmed her cause of death.
It’s the eighth confirmed case in the Hunter New England area this year.
Meningococcal warnings signs include a sudden onset fever, neck stiffness, a dislike of bright lights, and a rash of reddish purple bruises that develop quickly.
Babies may be irritable with an abnormal cry.
