Hamwicks have moved into the quarter finals of cricket’s SCG Country Cup, after edging out Merewether.
Hamwicks looked in trouble early, with Mark Dries caught by Simon Moore for 20 off the bowling of Josh Emerton.
Moore was involved again a few overs later, combining with his keeper to run out Josh Trappel for five.
When Rhys Hanlon was caught by Sam Gilmour for nine, the visitors were struggling.
But Sam Webber’s 68 off 43 balls ensured they had a competitive total.
