It became very overcast along the Coast from Newcastle to Bega as the ECL formed producing some heavy down pours.
Very unusual to have a high pressure belt like this begin to form so far south over the southern ocean. The east coast low will deepen over night and help to produce more rain for the region tomorrow. With widespread afternoon storms developing across northern NSW and heavy squally showers and rain periods for the Central and Hunter Coast. Winds will also pick up speed across the weekend.
