Hunter New England Health has responded to Wednesday’s statewide rally, which saw midwives stop work to call for better nurse-to-patient ratios.
A frustrated group from Tamworth raised concerns about not having enough time to provide quality care and information to mothers who have just given birth.
In a statement to NBN News, the health district says the community should still have confidence in Tamworth Hospital.
It says the state government has been working to increase staff numbers since 2012.
