MISSION AUSTRALIA DRUG AND ALCOHOL PROGRAM
Young people on the north coast are to be the focus of a new program aimed at minimising drug and alcohol abuse.
Mission Australia today received more than $700-thousand in federal government funds to conduct outreach in Coffs Harbour.
The organisation says drug, alcohol and mental health issues are on the rise among teenagers.
“Anecdotal feedback we get from the communities we have been speaking with, it’s massive, more services the better really, some that are already there we collaborate with them but we hope the 360 outreach program will be an addition complimentary to really get young people connected in,” said Sarah Sherlock.
The new service will target young people between the ages of 13 and 18.
