Severe weather is continuing to cause chaos for commuters across the Hunter and Central Coast, with no trains running between Hornsby and Gosford.
The need for urgent power supply repairs has closed the line.
Passengers are advised to delay their journey, where possible.
Buses are being arranged to replace services

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of the Hunter, Mid North Coast, and North West Slopes and Plains, Northern Tablelands and Northern Rivers.

Heavy rainfall and damaging winds are expected over the next few hours, with locations including Port Macquarie, Taree, Newcastle, Gosford, Armidale and Tamworth.
Flash flooding is also expected in some areas.
The increase in storm activity is due to a trough interacting with a warm air mass over the state’s east.
The warnings come after much of the state was lashed by severe storms on Thursday afternoon, with more than 50 millimetres of rain falling at Mount Lindsay north west of Tamworth.
