MAN SHOT IN STOMACH NEAR CESSNOCK

A gunman remains on the run tonight, after a man was shot in the stomach near Cessnock.

The 23-year-old was rushed to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition… late today, he was still in surgery.

EARLIER:

Police have launched an investigation after a man was shot at an Aberdare home late yesterday.

The 30-year-old attended the Cessnock Hospital emergency department last night with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Hunter Valley Police were called to the hospital, and it’s now believed the man was shot at a home on Comerford Close between 6pm and 6:30pm.

The victim was stabalised before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition and will under go surgery.

Investigations are continuing.
