MAN CHARGED AFTER CHRISTMAS DAY STABBING
A man has been charged over an alleged Christmas Day stabbing in Tamworth.
Police say the 45-year-old stabbed another man in the leg around 2.30 yesterday afternoon, after an altercation at a Johnston Street hostel.
The injured man was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The younger man initially fled the scene, before later handing himself into police.
He was charged with wound to intent, common assault and breach of bail.
Officers say the men were known to one another.
