BUSHFIRE CLOSES ROADS NEAR PORT MACQUARIE
Road closures have been put in place south of Port Macquarie, as firefighters battle to contain an out-of-control bushfire.
A fire is burning out of control in bushland on the eastern side of Ocean Drive, 6km north of Lake Cathie. 16 fire trucks are on the ground along with a water bombing aircraft. The road has been closed in both directions. @nbnnews pic.twitter.com/P3FFvbqUv0

Ocean Drive is closed between Lake Cathie and Matthew Flinders Drive, with the blaze having already burnt through more than 90 hectares.
The fire is burning to the east of Ocean Drive, and is heading in a south-westerly direction.

Strong winds are fanning the flames, with gusts of more than 35km/h recorded this morning.
Those in Lake Innes and Lake Cathie should continue to follow the instructions of fire crews on the ground.
