WATER RESTRICTIONS LOOM FOR FIRST TIME IN NEARLY THREE YEARS

Chaffey Dam has dropped below 40-per cent for the first time since its augmentation in 2016.

This means restrictions will be imposed for Tamworth, Moonbi and Kootingal next week.

Level 1 restrictions will allow outside water use for just two hours per day, between 6 and 8pm.

Tamworth residents have not seen Level 1 restrictions since July 2016.
