GRIM OUTLOOK FOR PRIMARY PRODUCERS
Just when farmers thought some respite may be on the way, the Department of Primary Industries has quashed that hope – declaring the drought is here to stay.
Recent isolated storms haven’t been enough to break the dry conditions, and the worst could be yet to come.
“We’re expecting conditions to either hold or potentially intensify considering the high evaporation rates we get over Summer,” Dr Anthony Clark, NSW Department of Primary Industries.
The state’s west and north-west will continue to be among the most severely affected areas.
