A pilot and his student escaped uninjured after their light plane suffered a hard landing at Taree Airport this morning.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene just after nine.
The pair had been practicing take-offs and landings when the aircraft wound up on the grass, looking decidedly lop-sided.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating the incident, including whether landing gear failure was to blame.
