WET WIPE BLOCKAGE PROMPTS REMINDER FROM HUNTER WATER

Hunter Water is reminding people not to dispose of wet wipes down the toilet, after it removed almost a tonne of the product at Lake Macquarie.
It’s released a photo, showing field crews using a crane to remove the blockage at Eleebana.
Hunter Water says so-called ‘flushable’ wet wipes are not biodegradable, and cost Australian water utilities millions of dollars each year.
