POLL REVEALS TONY COULD TAKE NEW ENGLAND WITH PREFERENCES

A poll has revealed New England’s former independent MP Tony Windsor could beat new National’s leader Barnaby Joyce, if he receives Labor and Greens preferences.
A Reachtel poll of more than 700 residents in the seat found 32.2% would vote for Windsor as their first preference, if he returned to politics- compared with 39.5% for Joyce.
Combined with preferences from the Greens and Labor, the results suggest Mr Windsor could take the seat.
Joyce has held New England since 65-year-old Windsor retired in 2013.
