A new report on the future of energy found New South Wales relies more on coal-fired power than any other state on Tuesday.
The Climate Council study points to Liddell Power Station as having the worst emissions per energy generated.
“If you’re in the Hunter Valley you have to be thinking about the long-run demise of coal on a worldwide basis, and how do you regenerate your region?” – Greg Bourne, Climate Council.
Liddell is scheduled to close in 2022.
