The former owner of a Star Wars-themed coffee shop will run as the Small Business Party’s candidate for state seat of Newcastle.
Glen Fredericks claims the Coalition – and Labor MP Tim Crakanthorp – have treated the city with contempt.
“I’m not anti-Labor, I’m not anti-liberal, I’m not even anti-greens. But I’m anti-lazy, anti-stupid, anti-apathetic and mostly, anti-negative.”
“He certainly does need to do a little bit more research before he comes out all guns blazing and if he’s going to blaze those guns, they actually need to be fairly directed at the Premier and this government, for their lack of support.”
Mr Fredericks says Empire Coffee Co was one of many small businesses, severely impacted by light rail construction.
