SALVOS CALL FOR MORE WINTER DONATIONS

Tamworth’s Salvation Army is calling on the community to dig deep and donate any warm clothing or blankets it can spare.
As the temperature continues to drop, the charity is struggling to keep up with the demand.
“Two people come in yesterday who are living in their cars saying have you got any blankets and we really haven’t got any blankets that we can give out.”
A truck full of supplies is on its way from the Blue Mountains to assist with the shortage, but help from the local community is still desperately needed.
“People need help all year round but in winter they need it in different ways and so it’s very hard, it’s more expensive in winter.”
