POLICE ISSUE “STRANGER DANGER” WARNING

Police are issuing a warning to parents and children, following the attempted abduction of two boys in Port Macquarie last night.
The boys, aged 11 and 12, were playing in the street with friends just after 7pm when they were approached by a man asking for directions to a nearby street.
He allegedly put his arm around them and offered them money to escort him to the other street.
Two girls yelled out to a parent, who then called police, but the man was gone before officers arrived.
The man is described as being of caucasian appearance, around 168 centimetres tall, with short brown hair and a medium build.
He was wearing a navy and red jumper, board shorts and thongs at the time.
Anyone with information is asked to call Port Macquarie police.
