The Newcastle courts weren’t the ONLY ones bustling with activity on Saturday.
20 courts at Lake Macquarie got a fresh coating of tar, as part of a resurfacing project, and just in time for the start of Charlestown’s 2019 season.
The work was made possible by years of fundraising, paired with a grant from the state government.
It’s expected the improvements will boost player numbers in this year’s comp, and could attract a few new sponsors.
