ROUGH CONDITIONS CLOSE BEACHES ON EASTER SUNDAY

More than a dozen people have been rescued at beaches across the Hunter over the Easter long weekend.

Today, rough conditions closed Nobby’s, Newcastle, Dixon Park and Merewether beaches.

“We’d had two call outs to unpatrolled locations so again reinforcing that message that we want to be swimming at patrolled beaches were flags are.”

Conditions are expected to ease tomorrow.
