A group of experts has labelled a report into sand build up at the gateway to Lake Macquarie as inadequate.
The previous state government paid for a study into the problem, which has cost millions of dollars for dredging over 30 years.
The report is now being re-done, and is due to be handed to the minister in two weeks.
