Embattled former New South Wales MP Richard Torbay today broke his silence for the first time since stepping down from the position last month.
In a statement released this afternoon, the former Northern Tablelands member thanked the community for its support.
He said he’ll always consider Armidale and the New England his home, where he intends to live and work in the future.
Mr Torbay added he’ll co-operate fully with the Independent Commission Against Corruption’s inquiry, and described media speculation surrounding his situation as overwhelmingly false and misleading.
