An elderly woman spent up to 24 hours lying on the floor of her Coffs Harbour home in a critical condition before help arrived.
A Home Care worker found the 86-year-old during a routine visit and called paramedics to the Elizabeth Street unit.
Police initially thought she’d been assaulted during a break-in, but investigations show she’d suffered a fall.
She’s in a stable condition, with a suspected fractured skull.
