The former Newcastle Bowling Club site will sit idle for at least another six months, with mediation between developer, Keith Stronach and the Friends of King Edward Park pushed back until February next year.
The Land and Environment Court ordered the mediation.
The DA for a function centre at the site was approved by Newcastle Council one year ago.
