TAMINDA SOLAR FARM APPROVED

An $8-million solar farm to be built next to Tamworth’s racecourse has been given the tick of approval by the Joint Regional Planning Panel.
Today’s decision wasn’t a quick one though, with the panel resolving concerns raised by Tamworth Jockey Club.
“Obviously the glare issue was one and we didn’t have full confidence in the report that was presented.”
“The other big issue I think was probably to do with where the site barriers should go,” said Joint Regional Planning Panel Chair, Garry West.
The nine-megawatt farm will feed renewable energy into the grid, with a farm of this size able to power thousands of homes.
