A 38-year-old man has been left with a broken leg after a crash on the New England Highway south of Muswellbrook.
The injured man was flown to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital following the accident at the intersection of Thomas Mitchell Drive.
It’s understood a Ford Falcon was turning onto the highway when it struck a Toyota Prado just before 6 o’clock on Sunday morning.
The driver of the Falcon was airlifted to hospital in a stable condition, while those travelling in the Prado were uninjured.
Northbound lanes of the highway were closed for a number of hours, though have since re-opened.
