The Sydney Bears have claimed the Goodall Cup after winning the grand final of the Australian Ice Hockey League at Warners Bay Ice Rink.
The favourites fell in the semis yesterday with the Brave losing to the Bears and the Northstars falling to Thunder.
The Newcastle side was quick to assert their home rink authority, scoring first but it wasn’t long before Perth equalised.
The Thunder went onto score again in the second and third periods.
The Northstars fought back thanks to a second goal from Richie Tesarik, but time ran out for the home side.
