CHARGES EXPECTED FOR MAN WHO RAN FROM SERIOUS CRASH

Charges are expected to be laid against a 47-year-old man, who it’s alleged ran from the scene of a serious crash near Newcastle.
Emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway at Tomago just before midnight on Thursday, after a Subaru Impreza and Toyota Camry collided.
The Subaru came to rest upside down in a nearby gully, while the driver of the Toyota was seen to run south towards the Hexham Bridge.
He was eventually found hiding in the grounds of a nearby business, before he was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 59-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the Subaru was left with hip and leg injuries.
