The Taree blood bank was lucky not to be the scene of a bloodbath when a car drove into it this afternoon.
Emergency crews arrived at the building in Macquarie Street at around 1pm, after an elderly lady drove through the front window.
She wasn’t injured – and fortunately for blood and plasma donors, the centre is closed on Fridays.
