HUNDREDS EXPECTED AT NEWCASTLE INTERNATIONAL MARATHON
Hundreds of runners are expected to take part in this year’s International Half Marathon along the Newcastle coastline.
Athletes are coming from as far away as China to compete in the 21 kilometre course on October 6.
“It’ll be all around Fort Scratchley, Nobby’s Beach, up to Merewether and then back again.” – Emma Redgrove, Event Organiser.
The event has been confirmed as an annual fixture for at least the next three years, and registrations are still open.
“Hopefully as the years go on, particularly in the international and chinese market, seeing how we can grow this event for the purposes of tourism, the event itself, but also really building those international business relationships.” – Cr. Nuatali Nelmes, Newcastle Lord Mayor.
There’ll also be a five kilometre fun run.
