CYCLIST SERIOUSLY INJURED IN CENTRAL COAST CRASH
Police are pleading with cyclists to take care on the roads after a rider, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, hit a telegraph pole on Saturday night.
Officers were called to the corner of Surf Street and the Entrance Road at Long Jetty following reports a man had fallen from his bike.
The 39-year-old appeared to be intoxicated and wasn’t wearing a helmet which resulted in him sustaining a serious head injury.
He was taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital but was later flown to Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital for specialist treatment.
