WALK N’ TALK TO COMBAT MENTAL HEALTH IN TAMWORTH NEXT WEEKEND

The Peel River will be lined with yellow T-shirts next weekend, as a group of residents band together for the annual ‘Walk n’ Talk’.

The community event is an opportunity for people to open up about personal struggles.

Participants walk for an hour, before enjoying a barbeque with new friends.

Organisers say that the event isn’t about raising money, but starting a conversation.

“The more that people talk about it, the better it becomes. There’s no stigmatising about it at all. We all know people that’ve been suffering from it and it’s just trying to hlp everybody as much as possible.”

The walk starts at 10am next Sunday at Bicentennial Park.
