COOLY HOTEL’S BIG RED BUS HITS A MAJOR ROADBLOCK

The Gold Coast’s own piece of London was short lived with the Coolangatta Hotel’s replica red double-decker bus forced off the streets.
For three weeks, it was used as a courtesy bus for patrons, but Queensland Transport has now deemed it doesn’t comply with regulations.
“According to them its got to go over the pits and as its over 20 years old be re-skinned re-rivetted, be accredited drivers the same as we were running interstate and its just unprofitable to do such a thing.”
It’s come as a huge disappointment to customers, who struggle to get taxis at night.
The Hotel will look at replacing it with a run-of-the-mill 12-seater.
