HUNTER’S FLYING FOX MANAGEMENT RECEIVES THOUSANDS
Cessnock Council has received state funding to help manage a flying-fox colony living near homes and the town’s public school.
$95,000 will go towards habitat augmentation designs, vegetation works and air conditioners
Nearby, Singleton received $10,000, and Muswellbrook was given just short of $5,000.
“We need to do everything that we possibly can to assist Counciland landowners to rid their area of these flying vermin as I like to call them.” – Michael Johnsen, Upper Hunter MP.
It’s expected Council will use the money to buy high-pressure cleaners and clothesline covers.
