Cooler temperatures and lighter winds are assisting efforts to control a large bushfire at Moonbi, north of Tamworth.
The fire, which has been burning since Tuesday, has now impacted approximately 4,000 hectares.
One lane of the New England Highway has reopened between Moonbi and Bendemeer.
Thankfully, there’s no immediate threat to the villages of Moonbi, Limbri and Woolbrook.
