It’s extremely hot and dry across most of the nation today. The Nullabour reached 48.5 degrees, equaling its hottest recorded temperature.
On the satellite, the southerly change can be seen on the south coast.
It is a another crazy synoptic set up with larges highs dominating the east and south west. The low in the middle will offer nothing significant in the way of rain.
The southerly change will cool parts of the coast but have no impact inland, making for another extremely hot day inland.
The southerly change will make it to about Yamba, cooling the coast – but no rain is expected.
The inland heatwave will continue across the weekend and heat will return to Newcastle on Saturday.
