Police are investigating the death of a 12-year-old boy who was struck by a ute at Port Stephens yesterday.
The boy got off a school bus on Marsh Road, Bobs Farm about 4pm.
He was struck as he crossed the road by 19-year-old man driving a utility.
The boy died on the way to hospital.
The driver was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
