MAN CHARGED OVER ARSON ATTACKS IN RAYMOND TERRACE
A man’s been charged with setting fire to several cars and bins in Raymond Terrace.
On December 12, police were called to a dance studio on Port Stephens Road to find it well alight, after fire spread from a burning garbage bin.
The building was badly damaged.
On December 14, two bins were set on fire on William Street.
On December 15, emergency services were called to Port Stephens Road to find two cars on fire.
The blazes damaged a nearby building.
On December 18, another car was set alight in a carpark off Sturgeon Street, damaging a nearby shed.
An 18-year-old man was arrested in Waratah West yesterday and charged with five counts of malicious damage.
He’s been refused bail.
