MAN ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED HISTORICAL SEXUAL ASSAULTS AT LAKE MACQUARIE

A man has been charged with historic sexual and serious assault offences, which allegedly ocurred at Lake Macquarie in the 1980s.
The 58 year old is charged with 22 offences, including common assault, sexual assault without consent, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Strike Force Arapaima detectives arrested the man yesterday on the Gold Coast. He faced Southport Magistrate’s Court this morning, and was extradited to New South Wales.
The 58 year old appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court this afternoon, and was refused bail.
He’ll next appear before Newcastle Local Court on March 4.

In a breakthrough for Lake Macquarie Detectives tonight, a 58 year old man arrested on the Gold Coast, in relation to historic sexual assault offences in the Hunter Region.
The man has also been identified as a person of interest in the disappearance of two Lake Macquarie girls who vanished 40 years ago, but today’s development relates to other women.
