A man will appear in court today after being extradited from Queensland over an alleged attempted robbery in Port Stephens last year.
The 23 year old allegedly entered a petrol station in Raymond Terrace just after 7pm on December 27th.
Police say he approached the counter, threatened staff with what appeared to be a firearm and demanded cash and cigarettes.
On Monday, the man was arrested by officers from Queensland Police at a unit on Nolan Street, Sabrina.
He faced Mackay Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, and was extradited to Raymond Terrace Police Station yesterday where he was charged.
He’s due to face Raymond Terrace Local Court today.
