GAV’S WEATHER | FINE COUPLE OF DAYS, RAIN ON THE WAY
Tropical Cyclone Claudia is Australia’s first severe Cyclone of the season off the Western Australian coast, but unlikely to make landfall.
It’s still extremely hot and dry across central and eastern Australia.
Claudia will remain offshore while Western Australia will see more rain come down.
Moist onshore winds along the coast will continue all week, building to the point of producing big inland rain across eastern Australia including the fire ravage regions from Thursday. The fires should finally be extinguished by next week.
It’ll be partly cloudy along the coast, but mostly fine with milder temperatures.
The cooler air will push further inland, and clear skies will still dominate the North West with temperatures still pushing into the high 30s.
Rain is finally on the way.
From Thursday showers, storms and rain periods will become a regular, daily feature across the region for a almost a full week, but then the heat is expected to return towards the end of January.
