MAN CHARGED WITH ARMED ROBBERY AND STEALING OFFENCES
A man will face Maitland Local Court today over an alleged armed robbery and stealing offences in the Hunter.
The 42-year-old entered a service station in Stanford Merthyr on January 5, allegedly threatening an attendant with a knife, and demanding cash and cigarettes.
He allegedly left with stolen petrol, and several other items from the store.
Police arrested the man in a park in Kurri Kurri yesterday, and took him to Cessnock Police Station and later to Maitland Hospital for assessment.
He was charged with one count of armed robbery, five counts of larceny and three counts of disqualified driving.
It’s also alleged he was involved in numerous stealing offences in Pelaw Main, Neath, Cessnock, and Weston between June last year and January 2020.
