A man has faced court, accused of lighting bushfires in the Hunter Valley.
23-year-old Jake Brown was allegedly spotted emerging from bushland near Cessnock covered in soot on December 27.
Police believe he lit two fires – one at Neath and another at Aberdare.
Brown is yet to enter a plea.
The case returns to court next month.
